Viñas Viejas
Winemaking insights
Hand selected by our winemaker, Matías Calleja, the grapes of our Vinas Viejas are some of the oldest and most distinguished of our vineyards. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in the barrel, softening the texture while maintaining the fresh aromas. After 9 months in new, mixed oak barrels, the wine continues to rest and develop for a further year in bottle prior to release.
Tasting notes
Appearance
Dark picota cherry red with violet hues that indicate its youthfulness.
Aroma
Intense and complex on the nose, it displays outstanding elegant aromas. Red fruit, cherry, blackberry and liquorice bark are prominent, accompanied by discreet notes of toast and spices.
Palate
Full-bodied and meaty, fresh and balanced. Prominent flavours are of fruit, notes of cocoa and hints of roast almond along with a touch of mint.
