"Madrid Fusión The Wine Edition" will feature a very special tasting with a selection of emblematic vintages from Bodegas Beronia.
Ollauri, January 2024 - "50 years of Beronia (1973-2023)" is the title of the tasting that this Rioja Alta winery is organising at "Madrid Fusión The Wine Edition" on 29 January with winemakers Matías Calleja and Alejandro López guiding attendees through various Beronia vintages that illustrate the half-century of history of this winery located in Ollauri.
Beronia Gran Reserva 1973, Beronia Gran Reserva 1982, Beronia Gran Reserva 1994, Beronia Gran Reserva 2001, Beronia Gran Reserva 2001, Beronia Gran Reserva 2001 and Beronia 2020 50th Anniversary Edition will be the wines that will take the audience through different phases of Beronia's history. Each will show how the winery's oenological style has evolved.
From the txoko to the most sustainable winery in the world
Bodegas Beronia started its own chapter in the history of the D.O.Ca. Rioja in 1973. A story that spans from the meetings in the txoko that its founders created in Ollauri, to the construction of the first winery and the birth of "5º Año", the first wine to be marketed. There have also been some important milestones in the winery’s development, such as its joining the González Byass Wine Family in 1982, the arrival of Beronia in 80 countries and the recognition of its wines in national and international competitions.
